A Day to Remember
A DAY TO REMEMBER
2016
By displaying the front pages of each newspaper about these events on my subject’s faces, I have explicitly caught the viewer’s attention with this idea of a global catastrophe, but force the viewer to see this in the context of the subject’s own personal relationship to each event. A Day to Remember also includes a video aspect, which attempts to further capture the emotion of the subjects by bringing them to life before the viewer’s eyes. With a combination of flashing imagery and unsettling audio projected right onto my subjects’ faces, I want my audience to experience this uncanny connection to the humanity of each subject and to share in the emotional response to the imagery of that event.
